Default Preparing to open the Zaishen Chest

After a long time of farming factions, I finally have enough Zkeys to open the chest 200 times.

I know that I have to:

- Watch out for everlasting tonics, which can be worth a lot of money
- Have a Mercantile Stone, so I can sell the stuff that comes out
- Can get some weapons for my heroes

Is there anything else I should know?

If you are not after the title, use a Zaishen Service. With 200 keys, you will get like 400 drops.

There isn't really anything to know. You're about to get 200 pieces of stuff. Some of it will be worthless. Some of it will be worthless but useful. Some of it will be valuable. It's essentially no different to the bunch of stuff you'd have after doing a mission except that it'll all be gold.

PS: You don't need a mercantile stone. Just open the chest as many times as you have free inventory slots and then just go back to merch the junk or throw the good stuff in storage (or whatever).

PPS: If you don't know the value of your items, just make a PC thread on Guru (after sorting as much out using the stickies, of course).

To be honest, I don't get anything in that section, and I've looked into the thread that tries to explain everything. Q8? 15^50? My head explodes every time. I normally just sell everything.

Just open the chest until your inventory is full. Then go back to guild hall or out to Balthazar's Temple or a quiet outpost where you can think. Out of 200 I found a couple of keepers for heroes, a couple mods. Sell the rest of the golds. Liquor and sweets consume if you lack points for a title. Otherwise sell.

After getting your title you will realize that the best thing to do with the keys is sell them and buy stuff.

i wonder what the chances would be of going in with just the keys in inv and all but 1 slot on inv empty ( has keys ) and seeing out of 200 keys if you actually fill your inv ?

If you get an Everlasting Tonic in those 200 drops consider playing the lottery too.

there are some rare weapons that come out of that chest that you will want to keep like Voltaic Spear or Celestial Compass.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to waste any of those precious Mercantile Summoning Stones. /sarcasm

It's been a long time since I've opened the Zaishen chest. I did get a lot of sweets and alcohol, if I recall. But I also got some nice, Inscribable weapons, including a nice q9 Magmus shield which I (regrettably) sold.

Nope, q8 weapons are not possible.

200 keys is not much, at least half of those (if not a lot more) will be creme brulee and firewater.

Of the rest, most will be crappy common skin weps with lousy requirements.

The chances of getting a weapon worth much at all is very very slim, certainly the odd of making even part of the 200 key value back is minute.

200 keys x 5 is a million gold, you would need to get a least a q9 channel bds to come close.

I got an El Tonic after many hundreds of keys, El Trapdoor, a lousy 20 ecto tonic, oh and I never had a weapon worth anything to speak of.

Open and go for title, maybe you will get lucky, but so you don't suffer a nasty let-down, just be aware you will almost certainly end up with a lot less than you imagined

Well, you know random games... When you expect or assume you should get something ( here because of 200 keys), you usually don't get anything...

Personnaly, the 2 everlasting tonics i had from the chest( which were boreal and searing) were obtained when i just wanted to open the chest with like 3 keys, not expecting a lot from it...

side note: you can also watch out for a few cool gold weapons Q9 that can be worth a little

you will also get a lot of tomes...usually ones you have no use for--though you might get one or two elites....you might also get a lockpick if you are lucky (I think I have gotten one...and I quit at level 4).

Depending on how you got your balth faction, you may be better off not using the keys at all. For the HoM you need any one PvP title at level 3 to get 3 points in Honor. If you've got that, Gladiator say,the money you'd spend to get the zaishen statue could be much better spent on other things (Destroyer / Oppressor weapons, Elite Armors, even minipets) and 1 million gold would be likely to earn you much more than 3 points if spread out a little.

Personally, I can't PvP worth a damn, so I spent my way to glory by buying the zkeys to get level 3 so that I could get 50/50 in my HoM.

Note: Hardly anything that came out of the chest was worth bothering with, so consider the money flushed away if you use the keys. That said, if you do open the chest 200 times, a screen shot to show what came out would be cool, and might be useful for other people in the same situation.
